Anthony
Anthony is the boss – he started the company ten years ago after many years selling jewellery in the Brighton Lanes. He still loves to see customers, when he has the time after doing the important things, like paying us and buying us Kit-Kats.
Alex
Alex is Anthony's son, and has been part of Wedding Rings Direct since day one. Alex oversees the company development and marketing.
Janine
Janine is the purchasing manager and also manages the rest of us. She usually does this with the aid of inspirational phrases such as “teamwork is dream work”, which mostly just make us laugh. Janine is third generation in the Brighton jewellery industry so she knows all the gossip...we mean, she knows all about jewellery.
Nina
Nina came on board to run the sample service, but could not keep her creative instincts under control and is now more often found in the workshop. She also helps out with customer service for German website. In her spare time she likes to eat crisps and put make-up on people, but hopefully not both at once.
Liza
Liza claims to love customer service, but we think she just likes gossiping with brides-to-be all day. She writes our blog, makes sure we never run out of tea and Post-Its, and nags us to reuse/recycle our carrier bags.
Kim
Kim runs our bespoke service part-time, and makes beautiful silver jewellery the rest of the time. She is the most glamorous of us all, but is nearly as clumsy as Liza. Kim always has at least three half-bars of chocolate in her desk drawer.
Andy
Andy drinks 100 cups of tea a day, but never seems hyper. He is in charge of adding products to the website, helps out on the phones and somehow keeps morale up by taking the mickey out of us all day.
Gem
Gem is our resident photographer, post-production editor, and helps out with customer service. She looks very cool with a camera, is prone to fits of giggles and talks to herself a lot.
Rita
Rita came on board in 2011 to take charge of the sample service, which was so popular that it needed someone else full-time. She kindly keeps on bringing in cake for us all, even though we always tell her off!
Libby
Libby is our posting queen, and works with Liza in the customer service department. We were coveting her shoe collection from the day she came in for her first interview, and struggle to keep up with her latest favourite kind of tea.
Evelina
Evelina runs the customer service for our Swedish sister site, Kodega.se, and helps Gem with the product photography and editing. She wowed us all with her skills as a sparky during a recent office move, when she (almost) singlehandedly re-wired the whole office to ensure we could all get back to work promptly.
Alex J
Alex J joined us in 2011 to help with customer service, and we quickly renamed her Bob to avoid any confusion with our other Alex. We're a two-Alex office, hooray!
Our workshops
Almost all of our rings are made to order; a significant part our business is of our own manufacture, in particular diamond-set wedding and engagement rings and bespoke jewellery. We are very fortunate in having a team of highly skilled goldsmiths, diamond setters and engravers with many years of experience; who will not compromise their high standards or the quality of their workmanship.
