Choosing your metal

If you'd like to see how the colour of one metal compares to another, please have a look at Liza's blog post on metal alloys

Palladium Wedding Rings
Relatively new to the jewellery market, palladium is great for those who would like to choose platinum but are on a tighter budget. Palladium is less prone to tarnishing or scratches than the less-expensive white gold, and polishes to a beautiful white finish. Information about palladium here.

Silver wedding rings
Silver is generally not used for wedding bands as it tarnishes and scratches more easily than other metals. However, we at Wedding Rings Direct have noticed how popular silver has become for wedding bands. We want you to have a ring to last a lifetime so we are happy to rhodium plate your silver ring at no extra cost to you (please request this as a note at checkout). So you can have confidence in your budget-friendly silver! Read more for more information about silver rings.

Yellow gold wedding rings
Yellow Gold is the traditional choice for wedding rings. We offer a choice of 9ct, 14ct 18ct and 22ct rings – each with slightly different properties due to the differing amounts of other metals in the alloy. If you'd like more information on the different properties, just follow the link for more information on yellow gold rings.

it’s excellent for those with allergies"

White gold wedding rings
White Gold wedding rings use gold alloyed with a higher proportion of other metals, to produce a beautiful polish and shine. White metals provide an excellent backdrop for diamonds, so choose white gold for your diamond ring if you would like platinum but perhaps want something more traditional. White gold rings are usually plated with rhodium, so read more for more information on this. Want more information on wedding rings in white gold? Rose gold wedding rings
Rose Gold is the romantic choice – if you want a ring that is traditional and distinguished then rose gold could be the metal for you. Rose gold is often used in bi-coloured rings to offset the more traditional white or yellow gold. Rose gold information

Titanium
Titanium was the first of the more contemporary, non-precious, metals to be added to our wedding ring range. You'll find it as an option on all our plain and decorative rings, as well as there being a whole category of designs just for titanium. It's one of the toughest metals we sell, and is distinguished by its darker colour and lighter weight.Information about titanium wedding rings.

Zirconium and black zirconium
Zirconium is very similar to titanium in strength and weight. Black zirconium is made putting zirconium through an oxidisation process which forms an incredibly tough exterior. Click the link for more information about zirconium and black zirconium.

Tungsten Carbide
Tungsten Carbide is the heaviest metal we sell and also the least likely to scratch. No metal is infallible, so click the link for more information about tungsten carbide.
