Terms & Conditions

  1. Prices

We endeavour to ensure that all our prices are clearly displayed and that there are no hidden extras. The final amount payable will always be shown at the check-out before the purchaser makes a final commitment to buy. However, in the event of human error or malfunction in our web-site technology, the prices on the site do not commit us to a sale unless a price is subsequently agreed. In the event of a customer having purchased an item on-line at the incorrect price, we reserve the right to return the amount paid in full and cancel the purchase if no alternative method can be agreed. Please note that discount vouchers can not be used with discounted items or sample orders. In the event that a voucher code is used for a sale item, your order may be cancelled.

  2. Ring re-sizing

Re-sizing of rings costs £20.00 for plain bands and £30 for diamond-set and decorative rings. If you wish your ring to be resized, please enclose a cheque made out to Wedding Rings Direct for £20 including instructions for re-sizing. Please note: We generally do not re-size by just half a size, as the difference will be barely noticeable. Resizing full eternity rings can cost up to £ 65.00, if you are not 100% sure of your ring size please contact us.

Please note that your guarantee is invalidated if you allow a third party to work on the item that we have made for you. If an item is altered by a third party we are not liable to re-imburse the customer with the cost unless this has been agreed in advance.

  3. Exchanges

We are willing to exchange one standard item for another, plus or minus any price difference and P&P. A standard item is any item available from our web-site which has not been altered in any way. Bespoke jewellery, engraved items or special orders can only be exchanged at our discretion and subject to any agreed charges. If you simply want the same item but with a different size, please follow the resizing procedure above. Please also note that we will not exchange or replace rings that have been damaged by the wearer. Please note that the resizing of rings from the special offers sectionwill be agreed/charged on a case-by-case basis.

  4. Refunds

We offer the option of a full refund within 14 days of delivery if the goods are agreed as being faulty, different from those ordered or not as expected. We reserve the right to remedy any faulty workmanship or exchange the item in the first instance before we are obliged to give a refund. Our refund policy excludes items with any element of personalisation. e.g. bespoke jewellery, engraved items or special orders which can only be exchanged at our discretion and subject to any agreed charges. Any item sent by us without us first receiving full payment remains our property until full payment has been received. Refunds will not be made until the item is returned in its original condition with all the original documentation.

In some cases, we will contact you before we manufacture a ring, to discuss what we can do to ensure the ring will be suitable and therefore not returned. This is especially likely if the item is of high value, e.g. a full eternity ring. We reserve the right to exclude items from the 14-day refund policy, and will always contact you prior to their manufacture if this is the case.

Refunds will be made by the original method of payment.

  5. Guarantees and Quality

We believe in the quality of our products and will correct any manufacturing defaults during the first 12 months. Your guarantee is invalidated if you allow a third party to work on the piece that we have made for you. All our relevant jewellery is hallmarked by an independent British Assay Office and all single stone diamond rings of 0.25 carat or more come with a gemological certificate from one of a number of different internationally recognised gem testing laboratories. Our diamonds are conflict-free. All items purchased come with a full description on the paid invoice which will be emailed to you after payment.

  6. Insurance Claims

Our diamond setters have worked for the best London West End Jewellers and we are very confident in their very high standard of workmanship .We therefore believe that our diamonds will not come out unless dislodged by accident or excessive wear and tear.

Please be sure that you insure all your jewellery against any loss which might be incurred. Most insurance policies require each item valued at over £1,000 to be named separately on the policy and you should therefore advise your insurer at the time of purchase to add the item to your policy if it is valued at £1,000 or more. If you require an extra invoice or valuation we will be happy to provide this service free of charge, but only at the time of purchase.

  7. Bullion Prices and Pound Sterling / US Dollar Exchange Rates

Diamonds and precious metals are traded internationally in U.S. Dollars and then converted into Pounds Sterling and are therefore subject to daily fluctuations . We endeavour to maintain stable prices but reserve the right to make corrections to our site content and prices at any time. However you will not be charged a higher price for an item after your order has been placed even if we incur a loss.

  8. Delivery

We use the Royal Mail Special delivery next day service which means that items sent by us are fully insured until delivered and signed for by the customer. After that they are the customer's responsibility. We strongly advise customers to use this service in the event of sending any valuable items in the post either to us or any third party. Recorded delivery should not be used for sending jewellery.

If you require your purchased goods to be delivered by an alternative courier to that of the Royal Mail, you may be liable to an additional postage charge. We do not charge for sample packages being returned to us if they are lost, damaged or delayed where the correct postal service was used and the sender has provided a proof of posting certificate.

If a customer requires us to deliver an order to a place other than the billing address we reserve the right to cancel the order and make a full refund by the original method of payment.

  9. Ownership of Goods

Any item received by a customer without us first receiving full payment remains our property until full payment has been received.

Goods sent on approval or as samples are our property but are the responsibility of the customer and will be invoiced at their replacement cost if not returned to us. In the event of an item not being received by us which has been posted by the customer, we will accept proof of posting by a Royal Mail receipt as being sufficient proof of delivery.

  10. Sample Service Terms and conditions

We expect all sample rings to be returned within one week, unless otherwise agreed. If we do not receive them, or a valid Royal Mail tracking number, within this timescale, we will invoice you for the full value of the ring(s), and if this is unpaid then we will pursue the matter through the county courts.

If we do not have the exact sample you've requested in stock, we may substitute this for a similar ring. We will always try to give you ample selection to make your decision, and always send as many rings as have been paid for.

Samples of shaped wedding rings and engagement ring are available in stock sizes only, and therefore additional bands of the size requested will be added to the order. These extra bands must also be returned with the other sample(s).

Our sample service is designed to help you choose wedding rings from our product range - we can not be responsible for any discrepancy between us and other retailers in terms of ring profiles or sizes. Rings of the same descriptions purchased elsewhere may have different profiles and be measured by different standards.
