Titanium and Tungsten
Titanium, Zirconium and Tungsten Carbide are three very tough metals/metal alloys. Alongside diamond, tungsten carbide is one of the hardest materials known to man. Rings made from tungsten carbide are extremely hard wearing and resistant to scratching. With a density only slightly lower than that of Platinum, tungsten rings are relatively heavy when worn.
Titanium has very different physical characteristics to tungsten - it is much lighter and polishes up to a very high mirror finish. Despite these differences, the rings remain very hard wearing. Certainly one to consider for those with tough jobs.
Zirconium is one of out latest additions to our range. A sister metal to titanium (and similar in weight), zirconium has some very interesting characteristics. When heat treated, the zirconium metal forms a very hard, protective layer. Due to zirconium's exotic characteristics, it is more commonly used in nuclear reactors and on space vehicles for thermal protection. Again, another metal to seriously consider for those of you worried about damaging your ring.
