Your wedding hair & make-up is the crowning glory to your wedding day look! We are so used to doing our own, that it can be quite scary to relinquish control to someone else. If you are nervous about your hair & make-up trial, here are our 5 top tips to getting the most out of it.
Admittedly, this will make for a long day. But, you will need to see how the looks gel together. Not only that, but you will need both done on your wedding day. It’s good to get an idea of how long they will take and whether you need to shorten one or the other.
You need to book your hair & make-up trial long enough before the wedding that you have time to change vendors if you’re not happy with it, but close enough that your hair won’t drastically change in between. If you plan on growing your hair, then 2 months ahead is best. If not, then 4 months will be fine.
If you plan on wearing hair accessories to your wedding then it is vital that your stylist gets to work with them beforehand. Different headpieces only work with certain styles. Not only that, but your chosen piece may be heavy. Your stylist needs to prepare methods to anchor it.
Make a checklist before you go so you remember all of this! Wash your hair the day before so that it is nice and workable for your stylist. If you wear self tan, apply that too so your MUA knows which colours to use on you. Make sure any hair colour you have is topped up before the appointment so you can get the best idea of how everything will look.
You will need to be able to visualise the whole look together. Photos of you in the dress, plus photos from the designer’s website will both be helpful here. Even better, if you have a top with a similar neckline be sure to wear that.
