Fran and Dave's Beautiful Outdoor Wedding

Today we are featuring a super pretty wedding on our blog. Fran and Dave opted for a lovely relaxed outdoor summer wedding with a festival vibe. They got married at Rumbolds Farm in Plaistow, West Sussex in July 2016. We especially love Fran’s dress and the gorgeous outdoor photos. Congratulations guys!!

THE VENUE

I had always dreamt of an outdoor wedding in the sunshine and we knew we wanted our day to feel relaxed and have a festival vibe. We visited a few different barn and farm wedding venues but when we drove in Rumbolds Farm in Plaistow, West Sussex we knew it was the ‘one’. The venue had a camp site and the lovely owners said we could have the venue for the week, meaning we got to decorate and set the day up ourselves, which is exactly what we wanted. We decorated the venue with lights, bunting and wild flowers and made some outdoor games ourselves.

THE DRESS

Once we had the venue and date sorted next was the dress! I was so excited for this bit and always had an idea of what my dress would look like. Plus I wanted a dress that would suit our outdoor, relaxed wedding! I visited Fross Wedding Shop in Uckfield as I loved their style of lace dresses. By the time I had the third dress on I knew that this was the ‘one’. It was perfect and I didn’t want to take it off!

THE HAIR AND MAKE UP

I am lucky that a good friend of mine, Laura, is my hairdresser so she was able to do my hair on the big day and she knows what I like. Make up is always a worry for any bride but I met Sam from Little Pretty Co and I knew once I’d had the trial that she was amazing.

THE PHOTOGRAPHER

I will tell anyone that having a great photographer is so important. We always look back at our photos and are so happy with the images that we have. Luke Woodford was our photographer and we couldn’t thank him enough for the photos that he took that day. He really captured the moment and all of the photos were natural and beautifully edited.

THE FLOWERS

We knew we wanted lots of flowers and wild flowers to decorate inside the barn and on the tables. Mine and the bridesmaids bouquets were created by Church Flowers in Seaford. I was so happy when I saw them on the day because they really were exactly what we wanted.

WORDS OF WISDOM

Remember your wedding day shouldn’t be a stress or a worry, enjoy it and on the big day take time to relax and soak up every single minute as it flies by. I am so happy that we got to plan and get our wedding day ready ourselves. We knew what was happening, it gave us the relaxed feel that we wanted and everything ran so smoothly. It really was everything I dreamed of and it was truly magical.
