Lydia & Phil’s Country Wedding

I had the pleasure of attending my school friends wedding back in April this year. We have known each other since we were 4 years old and we went to a boarding school similar to Hogwarts together but now years have passed and she has found her prince charming.

Phil is a rosy cheeked farmer with a kind nature and he has swept Lydia off of her feet! they live together in Suffolk on an arrable farm with their border collie called Flo and they are both members of the Young Farmers Association.

The wedding was set on the beautiful Earldoms Farm on the edge of the New Forest, as we drove across the sunny fields we set our eyes on the quaint setting, underneath the Oak Tree rows of hay bales and a wooden arch decorated with fresh flowers.

The wedding followed the theme of a barnyard wedding with burlap sack flooring, horse rugs draped over bales and rustic wooden kegs.

The romantic setting reflected Lydia’s and Phils country lives together and they looked overjoyed when they had said their vows and came past us down the aisle into a shower of colourful confetti.

Incredibly Lydia created her own amazing bouquets, hers was made from garden roses (white and pink ones), gypsophila, ranunculus, harlequin roses, and astilbe, the bridesmaids had smaller versions of hers and the flower girls had gypsophila and roses in their head bands (the roses in these were actually called Lydia roses!) .

To match this she had chosen tulips and white delphiniums and gerberas for the table displays and the arch way.

I think you will agree they are absolutely perfect!

After a couple of rounds of Pimms we settled in to the lawn games and a spot of wedding rounders.

Lydia looked stunning in her wedding dress, she had brought it from a shop in Hadleigh in Suffolk called the bridal lounge by the designer Casablanca added the straps herself.

A few friends from school came along and we had a mini reunion on the dance floor to the Twirzles.

All of the guests stayed in colourful glamping tents and Lydia and Phil had a beautifully decorated Mr & Mrs suite.

Lydia wedding transport seemed to be rather fitting!

After some dancing and cloudy cider we lined up for a yummy helping of cheese board with game pie. The wedding boomed on until the early hours when everyone gathered around a campfire sharing stories and reflecting on the day.

Of course Lydia purchased her shaped wedding band from us at Wedding Rings Direct which fits the curve of her engagement ring perfectly.

A fantastic time was had by all and we wish Lydia and Phil many years of happiness together 🙂
