A Guide to Wedding Ring Styles
When you begin shopping for wedding rings it can feel daunting trying to decide between the many wedding ring styles available. Almost all of the rings on our site are customisable to an extent, so you can rest assured that your dream wedding ring is only a few clicks away. If you aren't sure where to begin, here is an explanation of the variety of ring styles that we offer.
PLAIN
Plain wedding rings are the most traditional choice for wedding bands. They are a continuous band of metal with no exterior adornment. We have a variety of precious and non-precious metal rings available as plain wedding bands, including platinum, palladium, white-gold, gold, rose gold, silver, titanium, zirconium, tungsten and steel. You can choose your exact width, profile, finish and interior engraving. Our zirconium rings are also available with coloured and black zirconium.
DIAMOND-SET
Diamond set wedding rings are rings which feature diamonds as a prominent part of their design. Some diamond set rings only feature one or two stones, while others have a continuous row of stones around the band; These can also be referred to as eternity rings. Our diamond-set collection comes in a variety of different diamond cuts, including brilliant (round stone), princess (square stone), fancy and channel set. You can select your preferred metal and in some instances the diamond carat and width of your ring.
SHAPED
Shaped wedding rings are cast in different shapes to compliment various styles of engagement ring. These are particularly popular with people who wear low-set engagement rings and want their wedding ring to fit flush, or want their wedding band to enhance the look of their engagement ring. We offer a large collection of shaped wedding rings, both plain and with diamonds. TWO METAL
Two metal wedding rings combine multiple metals in one band. Our selection of two metal and multi-metal rings come in a variety of different alloys, including platinum, gold, rose gold and palladium. Multi-metal rings are made from two separate bands which are sintered together using specialist equipment. A two metal ring is perfect for those who like to wear jewellery of various metal types and want their wedding ring to fit seamlessly in with their jewellery collection. We also have a collection of diamond-set two metal wedding rings for that extra sparkle.
WOODEN INLAY
Wooden inlay rings are made from sturdy metal with an inlay of real reclaimed wood. These wedding bands are ideal for someone looking for something a bit different, as every piece of wood used is unique. Our wooden rings come in a variety of different metals, widths and profiles and include wood inlays of oak, yew and mahogany.
DECORATIVE
Decorative wedding rings utilise a mixture of traditional and modern jewellery techniques to add a further level of design to each ring. Our collection features traditional hand-engraved designs; laser engraved patterns; and diamond cut grooves, bevelled edges and more. Our collection of decorative wedding rings comes in a variety of metals, profiles and widths which you can select to customise each ring to your liking.
MOVING BLOCK RINGS
Hand made by Brighton-based designer Kim Hall, moving block rings feature a solid precious metal band with a movable precious metal cuff which sits comfortably on the band of the ring. This chic, modern collection celebrates the potential of precious metal as a medium, and is exclusive to Wedding Rings Direct.
LASER ENGRAVED
Laser engraved wedding rings can encompass almost any style. Thanks to the versatility of the laser, we are able to apply almost any design to a ring! Our standard collection features rings with sentimental text, your wedding date in Roman Numerals, or patterns and images that reflect the passions of the wearer. All laser engraved styles are available in a variety of different metals, including platinum, white gold, palladium and gold. You can also design your own laser engraved wedding ring through our bespoke service.
SANDCAST
Sandcast wedding rings are hand-made with an ancient metal casting method that uses sand as the mould material. Due to the organic texture of the sand, each sandcast ring has its own unique character and no two will ever look the same. These rings are available in a variety of different widths and metals including yellow gold, white gold, sterling silver and palladium.
SLICE
The slice ring range is our second collection by in-house jewellery designer Kim Hall. These handmade designs combine the best of sleek contemporary style, and unexpected organic influence. Slice rings are available with a range of gemstones, and come in a variety of different metals, including platinum, palladium and white gold.
