Accuracy of Information on Our Site

We endeavour to ensure that the information on our site is accurate, up to date, and complete. However, despite our best efforts, there may be times that information found here is outdated, inaccurate, or incomplete. 

All specifications, products, descriptions, and prices are subject to change without notice and at any time. We make all reasonable efforts to accurately display the attributes of our products, including colour. Please note that colour display varies across devices, so your device may not show an accurate representation of the colour of an item. 

The inclusion of any products or services on our site at any given time does not imply or warrant that these products or services will be available at any time. We reserve the right to discontinue a product or service at any given time.

Items which are within the UK's current hallmarking legislation weight will be hallmarked at a UK Assay Office. See our guide to hallmarking here for further information.

Appearance

The vast majority of our rings are hand-made, so please be aware that they may not always look exactly the same as the images on the website. Sandcast rings are made using sand as a casting mould which will always yield slightly differing results. Wooden inlay rings are all unique due to the individual grain of the wood chosen.  If this causes concern then please contact our customer service team, who will be happy to discuss your requirements with you.

Weights

The weight of every plain wedding ring is viewable on the product specification page under the “weight” dropdown menu. Whilst we strive to ensure we supply all rings in the weights specified on the item page, each ring is unique. Rings will be considered as suitable if they are within an acceptable trade tolerance, i.e. if the weight is within 5% for items over 2 grams and within 0.2g for each item below 2 grams.

Prices

We endeavour to ensure that all our prices are clearly displayed and that there are no hidden extras. Our precious metal rings are priced based on weight which means that altering the specifications of a ring will alter the price. The final amount payable will always be shown at the check-out before payment is made. By placing an order through our website, you are offering to buy the ring at that price. In the event of human error or malfunction in our website technology, the prices on the site do not commit us to a sale. In the event of a customer having purchased an item online at the incorrect price, we reserve the right to return the amount paid in full and cancel the purchase.

Please note that discount codes cannot be used for sale items or sample orders, unless otherwise specified in the discount code terms and conditions. In the event that a voucher code is used for a sale item, your order may be cancelled.

We change our loyalty reward codes regularly, and cannot be held responsible for the expiration of a discount code found online. Only one discount code can be used for each order. Discounts can not be used in conjunction with cashback sites like Quidco and TopCashback.

Terms of Sale

By placing an order with us you are agreeing to purchase a product; representing that you are of legal age to enter into a contract; representing that all of the information you have provided to support your purchase is true and accurate; and that you are an authorised user of the payment method that you have provided. 

Prior to our acceptance of your order, verification of information may be required. We reserve the right at any time after receipt of your order to accept, modify, or decline your order, or a portion of your order, for any reason. We reserve the right to limit the number of items ordered at any time and for any reason. We reserve the right to refuse service to you at any time without prior notification. In the event that an item is listed for the incorrect price on our site, for any reason, we reserve the right to refuse or cancel any sale of the item at that incorrect price, at any point in the order process. 

Payment Terms

Payments can be made on our site via credit card, debit card, PayPal, and bank transfer. 

Your credit card or debit card will be charged prior to the order confirmation.

All payments by credit card or debit card need to be authorised by the relevant card issuer and we may also need to use extra verification or security steps. All credit/debit card payments must have a matching billing address, but you can choose a different delivery address for all cards except AMEX.

Payment by PayPal: When using the PayPal payment method, you pay directly via your PayPal account or by direct debit. After submitting your order, you will be redirected to the PayPal website where you can access your account and release the payment in the amount of the order value.

Payment by bank transfer: If you select bank transfer as your method of payment you will be sent an email containing the relevant payment information. Bank transfer payments take up to one week to clear, which will add extra time to your estimated delivery date. If you would like to purchase a ring with express manufacture please do not select bank transfer as payment method as your payment may not process in time. For international orders, please ensure that your bank allows transfer payments to the United Kingdom before selecting this option.

Refunds will be made to the original purchaser and original payment method only. Refunds can take from 5-10 working days to process depending on payment method. You will receive a notification via email to confirm when your refund has been processed. Please see our Returns Policy for full details. 

Shipping & Delivery

All items dispatched to UK addresses will be sent out via Royal Mail services unless otherwise requested. Alternative shipping options will incur further fees. 

International orders will be shipped via DHL or another suitable courier. International orders will be subject to shipping fees relative to the cost of shipping to the country specified. International orders which do not include VAT will require the recipient to pay all customs and duties fees prior to receipt of the item. These fees are dependent on your country’s unique laws and the value of your order.

The estimated delivery date for each item can be viewed on the product specification page before ordering.

The estimated delivery date for your order can be found on the top right hand corner of your invoice.

Estimated delivery dates are calculated based upon a reasonable estimate of the time required to manufacture and deliver every item in your order. These estimates are not binding and are subject to change.

If something happens that is beyond our control that will affect your delivery we will notify you with a revised delivery date for your order.

Price Matching

If you find an item online that seems to match the specifications of a product on our site but is for sale for a lower price, we offer a price match guarantee. For the Wedding Rings Direct price match to be agreed the following stipulations must apply:

  • The product must be identical.
  • For wedding rings this means the same width, depth, profile, metal, colour, weight and finish.
  • For diamond rings this means the same ring design and the same diamond quality. Diamond quality means the same colour, clarity, cut and weight. Also the same grade of polish, symmetry and fluorescence. Diamonds of 0.25 carat and over must be certified by either the GIA or IGI gem laboratories.
  • The item being matched must be for sale in the UK and in GBP.
  • Price matching will not apply where the alternative supplier is in administration or closing down, or the item is damaged, pre-owned, or in a sale or promotion.
  • Price matching will not apply where the item to be matched has a different time-scale for delivery.

Please provide the following information as you will be asked a few questions to verify your claim:

  1. The website link so that we can check the product specification and price in GBP.
  2. If the web link is not available please supply official documentation from the competitor proving the product specification and price in GBP.

If we confirm that the product is being offered at a lower retail price, and that it meets our price match criteria, we will match that price.

Where we honour the price, we will supply the identical product at the agreed lower price. Or if you have already purchased from us, the difference will be returned by the original method of payment and is non-transferrable. A claim must be made within seven days of purchase.

Returns, Refunds & Cancellations

When you buy goods from an online business, by law you have a number of rights as a consumer. These include the right to claim a refund, replacement, or repair where the goods are faulty or misdescribed. The law also allows a 14 day cancellation period whereby you have the right to cancel your order up to 14 days after it has been delivered. This statutory cancellation period does not apply to personalised goods (e.g. engraved or re-sized rings).

In addition to the statutory cancellation period, WRD offers a cooling off period of a further 16 days so that you can cancel your order and/or return your ring up to 30 days from the date of receiving or collecting your order. You must inform us of your wish to return/exchange your item within these 30 days. The item must then be returned to WRD within the next 14 days.

If you wish to cancel your order or return it for a refund, please contact us either by telephone or email. The purchaser will not be refunded any relevant shipping or express manufacture costs and will be responsible for returning the ring to the Wedding Rings Direct address. 

All payments are processed by relevant payment platforms and not by Wedding Rings Direct. Therefore even if you cancel your order right away you may still be charged the full amount prior to being refunded. Whilst we will process the refund swiftly, the full completion timeframe will depend on the payment type and issuer.

Any item returned for refund or exchange must be received back in its original condition, with all of the original documentation where applicable (for example, diamond certificate) and packaging. 

Refunds and exchanges may be subject to fees where the item shows any evidence of wear and tear. Wedding Rings Direct reserves the right to not accept an item back for refund or exchange if it shows excessive wear and tear (even within the 30 day returns policy).

Items will not be accepted back for refund or exchange if it is evident that a 3rd party has worked on the item. 

Refunds and exchanges will not be authorised for bespoke items, engraved items, shaped rings and any rings received back beyond the 45 day cooling off period outlined above. 

If under special circumstances a return is accepted for items back after the 45 day cooling off period, this will be subject to administration/restocking charges. 

Wedding Rings Direct reserves the right to cancel any order if it is evident that more than one ring has been purchased with the express intention of choosing between them and returning one for a refund. 

Refunds will only be made to the original method of payment and to the original purchaser. .

In some cases, we will contact you before we manufacture a ring, to discuss what we can do to ensure the ring will be suitable and therefore not returned. This is especially likely if the item is of high value, e.g. a full eternity ring. We reserve the right to exclude items from the 30-day refund policy, and will always contact you prior to manufacture if this is the case.

We require all returns (for resize, exchange or refund) to be sent by prior arrangement. If you'd like to initiate a return, please email [email protected] with a brief explanation for your reason for the return. 

Exchanges

We are willing to exchange one standard item for a different style of standard item, plus or minus any price difference and any extra shipping and handling fees. A standard item is any item available from our website which has not been altered or personalised in any way. 

To be eligible for exchange the new item must be a different style to the original item (not the same item in a different size). If you simply want the same item but with a different size, please follow the resizing procedure. 

Custom or bespoke jewellery, engraved items, or special orders can not be exchanged

Please also note that we will not exchange or replace rings that have been damaged by the wearer, or worked on by a third party.

Faulty Products

If you think there is something wrong with your product, you may contact our Customer Service team.

We honour our legal duty to provide you with products that are as described on our website and meet the legal requirements imposed by law and nothing in these terms shall affect your legal rights.

A summary of your key legal rights in respect of products purchased from us is as follows:

Up to 30 days: if your products are faulty, you can get a refund from us;

Up to six months: if a faulty product can't be repaired or replaced, then you're entitled to a replacement or full refund in most cases; and

Up to six years: if the products do not last a reasonable length of time and you can show the fault was present at the time of purchase, you may be entitled to some money back.

Please note that a product will not be considered faulty for incurring scratches more quickly than anticipated, with no exceptions.

Festive season

As we are aware that the jewellery we sell may be for gifts or seasonal weddings, we are happy to extend our normal 30-day returns period over Christmas. Standard items bought in December can therefore be returned up until 31st January. Normal exceptions to the returns policy apply.

Longevity

We believe in the quality of our products and will correct any manufacturing faults during the first 12 months. A ring will not be considered to have a manufacturing fault if it shows scratches more quickly than anticipated, with no exceptions. Even the most tough metals may show wear and tear from contact with everyday objects. You can read our guides here. We encourage you to research the properties of your chosen metal before purchasing to ensure it is compatible with your lifestyle. 

We strongly advise you to insure all high-value items, especially those with diamonds. 

We will not replace a dislodged or lost diamond free of charge, unless it happens within the first three months of the date we dispatched the item. We will only replace a dislodged stone during these three months if the ring does not show exceptional damage by the wearer.

Rings with wooden inlays

Rings with wooden inlays require a little more care than pure metal rings. We provide guidance on how to look after these rings to maximise their durability, but cannot monitor whether or not people follow this advice. For this reason, we cannot take responsibility for any deterioration in the inlay after three months from the delivery date. We can replace the inlay for a charge equivalent to the cost to us. We will not make any exceptions to this three-month limit.

Insurance

You will receive a full sales invoice for your purchase, which most insurance companies will accept as a valuation for the item. We can provide other documentation by prior request, and may on occasion charge for this service.

We advise that all jewellery is insured appropriately. 

Third parties

Your guarantee, statutory cancellation period, and 30 days returns policy are invalidated if you allow a third party to resize or otherwise work on a piece of jewellery we have made for you.

Hallmarks and certification

All of our precious metal jewellery, or jewellery that combines precious metals with other materials, that meets the UK required weight for hallmarking will be hallmarked by an independent British Assay Office. 

All single-stone diamond rings that are 0.25 carat or more come with a gemological certificate from one of a number of different internationally recognised gem testing laboratories. We will also certify centre stones of trilogy rings that are 0.25ct or more. We can certify diamond accessories or the side stones of trilogies by prior request and will normally add a surcharge for this service.

We support the ethical sourcing of diamonds. All of our suppliers adhere to the Kimberley process or are registered with the Responsible Jewellery Council. 

Delivery and ownership of goods

As we make all our rings to order we are only able to give estimated due dates. This is because we have to be prepared for all eventualities within the manufacturing, Assay, and delivery processes. Although rare, when delays occur, they are not usually more than a day or so and we will always update our customers should we anticipate any changes to their estimated due date as soon as we are made aware of them.

We use the Royal Mail Special Delivery (next day) service which means that items sent by us are fully insured until delivered and signed for. After that they are the customer's responsibility. 

When sending valuable items in the post we strongly recommend that you use an appropriate, insured postage method and robust packaging. Recorded delivery should not be used for sending jewellery. Wedding Rings Direct cannot be held responsible or items that are lost in the post on their way to us from a customer.

If you require your purchased goods to be delivered by an alternative courier to that of the Royal Mail, you may be liable to an additional postage charge. We do not charge for sample packages being returned to us if they are lost, damaged or delayed where the correct postal service was used and the sender has provided proof of posting.

Any item received by a customer without us first receiving full payment remains our property until all monies have been received.

Ring resizing

Full details of resizing including costs can be found in our guide to resizing. Some rings can not be resized, so please read this information carefully and be sure of your ring size before purchasing. Resize costs listed are guidelines only and are therefore not binding and subject to change at any time, for any reason.

For rings that cannot be physically resized we offer one discretionary remake at the cost of a resize per customer. This applies to most Tungsten, Titanium, and Zirconium rings. This does not apply to precious metal or eternity bands. To be eligible for this, the ring must have been purchased within the last 12 months.

We do not offer a resizing service for sale items.

Sample Service 

When placing an order for sample rings through our site you are agreeing to our sample service terms of service. In doing so you acknowledge that samples are a returnable item which must be returned to Wedding Rings Direct within the timeframe agreed (usually one week from the date of delivery) unless an alternative return date has been agreed. Where multiple sample orders have been placed by the same customer within a reasonable timeframe (no more than one month), we expect you to keep all samples together and return them by the end of the standard expected returns period for your most recent sample order.

The fees paid to borrow sample rings cover a loaning fee, workshop costs, postage, and admin fees and thus are non refundable.

You are responsible for having sufficient funds available to cover loss or damage of sample products up to the sum of the full replacement value for each product. If you are unsure what the replacement value of a product is, please contact our customer service team for advice. Please do not borrow samples unless you have sufficient funds to cover the replacement value. Wedding Rings Direct has the sole and binding right to determine replacement value for any item.

If we do not receive your samples or a valid Royal Mail tracking number within the agreed timescale, we will invoice you for the full value of the ring(s). Wedding Rings Direct may contact a debt collector or file a claim through county courts to recoup any monies owed to us by you in the event that you have refused to pay for the damage or loss of products. All reasonable expenses incurred in the process of recouping the outstanding sums will be added to the debt collected from you.

If we do not have the exact sample you've requested in stock, we may substitute this for a similar ring. We will always try to give you ample selection to make your decision, and always send as many rings as have been paid for. Sample rings will not be engraved.

Samples of shaped wedding rings and engagement rings are available in stock sizes only. We will always provide a sample of the shaped ring in the closest size available to the size ordered. You will also receive additional bands of the size, profile, and width requested. These extra bands will not be charged rental fees for, but must be returned with the other sample(s).

Sample customers can enjoy a price freeze meaning that they may purchase their desired ring at the price it was listed at when they ordered their sample. To be eligible for the price freeze offer the real ring order must be made within 30 days of receiving the sample order. This offer applies to full price rings only and excludes any sales, promotions, or discounts.

Our sample service is designed to help you choose wedding rings from our product range - we can not be responsible for any discrepancy between us and other retailers in terms of ring profiles or sizes. Rings of the same descriptions purchased elsewhere may have different profiles and be measured by different standards.

Definition of High Street

Throughout our website, where references are made to the 'High Street' or 'High Street stores' (in terms of a price comparison) our definition is as follows:

A shop located on the main street of a town or city. In specific relation to Jewellery based businesses, this is a shop which can be found across multiple towns or cities (chain store).
